A green cement for Sustainable Development
Singapore is constantly upgrading to become a greener city. Its construction sector, though extremely active, faces many challenges. Construction materials account for 7 million tons of CO2-emissions per year, out of 52 million tons for the whole country. The generated earth-based wastes such as marine soft clay demand space for disposal. The durability of reinforced structure is threatened by the changing tropical climate.
The purpose of this event is to invite policy makers, industrial players and academic researchers to discuss a holistic solution to these challenges, through the development of a novel construction material named LC3, tailored for these challenges in Singapore and in the region.
