The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - also known as the Global Goals for Sustainable Development or Agenda 2030 - consist of 17 global goals which were announced by the United Nations in 2015. These goals are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity and they are a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
