Biden-Harris administration announces $6 billion to transform America’s industrial sector, strengthen domestic manufacturing, and slash planet-warming emissions

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced 33 projects across more than 20 states to decarbonize energy-intensive industries.

For #cement and #concrete that’s:

  • $ 1.6 billion federal investment
  • 4 million metric tons of CO2 avoided annually

Out of the 6 projects, 3 are to develop #LC3 in California, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia and Texas, creating employment and saving around 40% of carbon emissions in comparison to conventional cement!

The 3 LC3 projects include:

  • Lebec Net Zero Cement Plant Project, Lebec, California, led by the National Cement Company of California
  • Limestone Calcined Clay Cement Production, Troutville, Virginia, led by Roanoke Cement
