As the year comes to a close, the LC3 Days in Oman and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia offered a strong and energizing wrap-up to a year of progress in low-carbon cement and sustainable construction, highlighting growing regional momentum and shared commitment to real-world impact.

In Oman, from 1–3 December, the program featured a pre-congress technical course with over 100 participants, followed by a congress attended by more than 150 participants, including over 10 CEOs from leading cement companies. Organized by Middle East Calcined Clay and the German University of Technology in Oman, discussions covered cement manufacturing, business strategy, and innovation, complemented by technical site visits to First Calcined Clay in Sohar and the Sarooj site.

The Addis Ababa LC3 Day on 4 December focused on local opportunities, market development, and capacity building, with highly active participation from Ministry of Industry, all Ethiopian cement industry CEOs, the Ethiopian Cement Producers Association, Ethiopian Standards Institute, and other public and private stakeholders. The engaging and informative discussions clearly demonstrated Ethiopia’s strong commitment to decarbonizing the cement sector.

Looking ahead to the coming year, the momentum from these LC3 Days sets a clear path forward in climate action, moving from dialogue to deployment. With scaling implementation, strengthening partnerships, and commitments translating into tangible, on-the-ground impact,  the shift to low-carbon cement and more sustainable construction is only accelerating.
